Continue your education here at The University of Mississippi!

The School of Journalism and New Media at the University of Mississippi offers two graduate degrees, one in journalism, and one in integrated marketing communications. For the Master of Science in integrated marketing communications, students can choose from two delivery methods: on campus or online.

The master's program in IMC is a 100% online delivery of a Master of Science in integrated marketing communication. It's the same program that we have in the residential program, but all of the content is delivered in an online format. The benefit of the online program is, one, there's a lot of flexibility. So you can coordinate when you attend the lectures, when you work on the material, depending on your schedule and your travel obligations and that kind of thing.

For the Master of Arts in journalism, students on campus in Oxford can choose from two tracks: professional or academic. Student Jacqueline Schlick chose the professional program to grow her writing and digital media skills.

I chose the professional track because it has a very strong emphasis on communication skills, public relations, digital media, writing. I did come from a writing background, I have an English literature and creative writing degree. And writing was always my strong suit. But I wanted to learn a little bit more about video editing and capturing interviews in different capacities. I got a lot of documentary reporting, training, media performance, and those were all things that I really wanted.

Our graduate students go on to work for Fortune 500 companies in top media organizations. They become college professors and pursue PhDs. If you've been looking for a challenge and the chance to expand your career, the School of Journalism and New Media is ready for you.
